Dr. Haley Traini
Assistant Professor, Oregon State UniversityDr. Haley Traini is an Assistant Professor in Leadership Education, Co-Director of the College of Agricultural Sciences Leadership Academy, and Leadership Minor Program Director at Oregon State University. She has taught a variety of leadership, agricultural sciences, and agricultural education courses in the Department of Agricultural Education and Agricultural Sciences. Dr. Traini holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agricultural Education from California State University, Chico as well as a California Secondary Single-Subject Teaching Credential in Agriculture.
From 2010-2015, Haley taught high school agriculture in California, then spent the 2015-2016 school year teaching agriculture in Ghana with AgriCorps at the Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture. During her time as an AgriCorps Fellow, Dr. Traini helped develop experiential education curriculum that was taught at five teacher trainings across the country.
In 2016, Dr. Traini pursued a graduate teaching assistantship and a Ph.D. in Education with an Option in Agricultural Education at Oregon State University. Currently, her research explores systemic barriers in U.S. School-Based Agricultural Education, leadership motivations of students, and outcomes of School-Based Agricultural Education in Liberia.
Dr. Traini enjoys reading, hanging out with her daughter, husband, and dog, and spending time with friends on her back porch.
